Danny Lane Dunn, 58, husband of Vickie Robinson Dunn passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Scott County, he was the son of the late Emogene "Gene' and Jean Giles Dunn.

A Georgetown High School graduate, during Danny's senior year he was a member of the 1973 State Champions in the 800 Relay Track team along with Bobby Cook, Rick Wilson and Ruben McIntyre. He then went on and attended Georgetown College and was a member of Minorsville Christian Church.

He was a former employee of Johnson Controls and retired as a Supervisor from the GMWSS after 22 years of service.

Danny had a love and passion for fishing, golf, UK sports and mainly spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors besides his wife include one daughter, Ashley Nicole Dunn, Richmond; two sons, Dustin Hale, Lexington, and Greg (Stephanie) Hale, Stamping Ground; one granddaughter, Katie Hale; one sister, Charlotte Dunn Devers, Georgetown; mother-in-law, Edna Phillips, Salvisa; one niece, four nephews, two step daughters, Angie Payne Roberts and Crystal Kendrick Calitri and two aunts, Carolyn (Charles) Feeback and Mary Lou McHone.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Monica Danielle Dunn and a sister, Diane Dunn Littrell.

Visitation will be from 4-8pm Tuesday at Northside Christian Church, 114 East Jefferson Street with funeral services the following day beginning at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Northside Christian Church, by Dean Rase and Minister Scott Coburn. Burial will follow in the Sadieville Cemetery. Casket bearers will be his nephews, Timmy Fain, Anthony and Richard Beeler and Daryl Zumwalt and his friends, Bobby Joe Traylor, Gary Dunn, Mike Whitt, Billy Sinkhorn and a special neighbor, Nolan Cash.

Honorary bearers will be Norman Sinkhorn, Dennis Zumwalt, Gary Duncan, Mark Walker, Bob Bennett, Bud Burton, Gary Vanhoose, Steve Skoien, Chris Cash, Gary Jacobs, Al Guglielmo and Greg Murray.
