John married first Arie F. Connell on January 17, 1854, in Gibson County, Tennessee. They were the parents of two daughters, Nancy Ann and Sarah Frances Knott. Arie passed away in 1857.

He married second Elizabeth Ford on October 29, 1857, in Gibson County, Tennessee. They were the parents of nine children--James Marshall, Julia Elizabeth, Mary Adeline, William Henry, Ida L., Martha Emma, John Alvin, Ada, and Charlie Knott.

Gravesite Details

Many of the footstones in Pratt Cemetery have been removed from the gravesites and placed underneath a bench between the cedar trees apparently for "safekeeping" because they are small, sometimes difficult to see, and cause mowing problems.
