A. W. Bollinger
Alfred W. Bollinger, one of the best known and most highly esteemed residents of Woodward township, died Wednesday night at his home near Dunnstown, of bronchial pneumonia, after an illness of five days. He was well up to last Friday and worked that day, but went to bed that evening. Besides tilling the soil, Mr. Bollinger was tax collector of Woodward township for the past twenty years, and previous to that was assessor o Woodward township. He was a member of Woodward Grange, St. John's Lutheran church, and the Knights of the Mystic Chain. He united with the Lutheran church when a youth and had been a zealous member ever since. Deceased was 73 years old, having been born in Aaronsburg, Centre county. He came to Clinton county about 60 years ago and had resided in Woodward township ever since. Mrs. Bollinger passed away five years ago, but he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Clark Fiegel, Clearfield; Mrs. Flegel, wife of Dr. L. S. Flegel, Karthaus; Blanche, at home; one son, Herbert, at home; three brothers, Charles, Bath, N.Y.; H. S., Woodward township; Warren, Olympia, Wash.; and two sisters, Mrs. Martin Cooper, Freeport, Ill., and Mrs. James Sayers, this city.
