MICHAEL BUFORD DODSON passed away January 6, 2013 and has gone to be with our Lord and savior at the age of 64. Mike (as we all called him) was born April 28, 1948 in Detroit Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father Buford Dodson in 2006 of Hesperia. He is survived by his two sons Steve Dodson of Wyoming, Mark Dodson of Nebraska, his mother Louise Dodson of Hesperia, three grandchildren, Mariellyn and Matthew Dodson of Montana and Nicholas Dodson of Wrightwood, sister Shirley and husband Tom Reid of Arizona, sister Nancy and husband Jim Allison of Nevada, brother Dennis and wife Joan Dodson of Hesperia, & sister Alice Cornwell of Arizona. When he was growing up he always loved sports. He was on many baseball teams either playing first base or catcher. He also played goalie for an ice hockey team. One of his pleasures was to read books. All of his nieces, nephews & all little children loved him because he would play with them and make them laugh and be happy. Mike was a Cement Mason and worked everywhere in the L.A. area, and even in Hawaii. Mike was a veteran of the Vietnam war and an Infantry Soldier in the Army and was honorably discharged. While in High school, he played the trumpet and was in the marching and regular band. He and a group of friends formed a Dance Band and played for parties. They played for his sister Shirley's wedding reception in Livonia, Michigan. Mike was loved by countless number of friends, and his great personality will be remembered forever by all who knew him. We will miss you and remember you forever, and know you are in a better place with the Lord Jesus our Savior. Rest in peace. We all love you. Graveside service and Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Riverside, Station 2, on Jan. 18, at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, please make your donations to any Diabetes charity.
