"Frank" was born to Jacob Bacon and Elizabeth Keebler in Washington County, Tennessee. He was the seventh of nine children born to Jacob and Elizabeth. His two younger brothers fought for the Union with the 1st Regiment, Tennessee Calvary in the "Battle of Franklin". Jacob Jr. died from wounds on 2 Dec 1864. William Bacon was listed as wounded this battle.

At the age of 24, Frank married Mary Ann "Annie" Trewhitt on Aug. 20, 1858. Annie was the daughter of famed Judge Levi Trewhitt, who died as a Civil War prisoner in Mobile, Alabama.

Annie and Frank had nine children,

1. David Matthew (Matt) Bacon, b. Jul. 9, 1859; d. 1943 in Oklahoma; m. Belle Foster; at least five children including, Joseph Foster Bacon, b. 1886; d. 1917.

2. Sarah Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bacon, b. Apr. 30, 1861; d. May 24, 1946 in Cleveland Tennesee; m. Jacob Rogers Richmond; four children, Arch R. Richmond, b. 1884; Paul A. Richmond, b. 1887; Albert E. Richmond, b.1891 and Clarence L. Richmond, b. 1896.

3. Harrison Bacon, b. 1862; d. 1894.

4. Alice Eugenia Bacon, b. Jul. 17, 1864; d. 1894.

5. Joseph Albert Bacon, b Sep. 28, 1866; d. Aug. 20, 1946 in Indiana; m. Nancy E. Thompson; four children, Inez Bacon, b. 1894; Day Henry Bacon, b. 1895; d. 1976; Newell Irmal Bacon, b. 1898; d. 1979; John W. Bacon, b. 1908; d. 1960.

Annie died at the age of 49, in 1886.

Frank survived her by 29 years. At the age of 60, he married Anna Wann in 1894. He had one additional son, Frederick Willard Bacon, b. 1895; d. 1978.

Frank died at the age of 80, in 1915. He was a farmer in Galena living with Anna and his youngest son at the time of his death.
