On March 3, 1863 in St-Sylvestre, Quebec he married Mary Tolen, daughter of Hugh Tolen and Ellen Early. They immigrated to the U.S. about 1869.
They had 10 children, of which only 6 lived to 1900. Their children were: Margaret, John, Mary Anne, David, Elizabeth Ann, John, Helen "Nellie", Mary, Annie, and Charley.
The 1910 census shows Patrick living separately and listed as divorced, but his death certificate lists him as married and Mary's papers after his death list her as widowed. So he may have just been living separately for work reasons. And he is buried in the main part of the Catholic cemetery and not placed in the remote area where they placed divorced people.
