He was born February 5, 1920, in St. Bernard, Ohio, the son of William Judson and Minnie Doersam Springmeier Sr. His mother survives in Cincinnati. He married the former Betty Jane Taylor, who survives.
Mr. Springmeier was safety director of Tilton Construction Company. He was a member of Shawnee United Presbyterian Church, Disabled Veterans and the Masonic Lodge in Sun Ray, Texas. He was a veteran of World War II. He came to Lima in 1956 with Sohio Petro Chemical Company.
Survivors also include a son, William R. Springmeier of Lima; a daughter, Mrs. Joyce (Robert) Hetrick of Columbus, three grandchildren; and a brother Don Springmeier of Cincinnati.
A memorial service was held at the Shawnee United Presbyterian Church, The Reverend Ralph Fogal officiated. His cremains are at Woodlawn Cemetery Columbarium. Siferd Westwood Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
