Gladys T. Koskela, Sept. 16, 1913-Jan. 14, 2012, former resident of San Bruno, after a long, full life, Gladys T. Koskela, age 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2012. She was born in Fort Bragg, California, and had resided recently in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Gladys was a resident of San Bruno for 58 years before moving to Michigan in 2006 to be with her only son and his family. She worked for more than 20 years as a school secretary in the San Bruno Park School District. Gladys was an active member of the PTA for many years and generously volunteered her time at the San Bruno Senior Center, as an election worker, and as an avid leader and participant in the local chapter of AARP. She enjoyed traveling and supporting her local church and will always be remembered for her sincere devotion to friends and family. Preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Frances Pedrotti; her husband of 54 years, Arne M. Koskela; and her brother, Ray Pedrotti, she is survived by her son, Steven Koskela of Grand Rapids; her daughter-in-law, Rebecca Koskela; her four grandchildren, Matthew, Courtney, Samuel and Katherine; her brother, Donald Pedrotti of Cupertino; her sister, Beryl Simon of San Rafael; and several nieces and nephews. A private celebration of Gladys' life will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ in San Bruno.
