Actor. Born in Marshall, Texas, he was a veteran performer who appeared in 229 silent and sound films, (1927-43). He began his career by staging and performing in local shows in Texas, then relocated to Hollywood, making his big screen debut in “The Beast” (1927). He met actress Fern Emmett on the set of “Texas Terror” (1935), they married and remained together for the rest of his life. Some of his many film credits included “The Branded Man” (1928), “Sporting Chance” (1931), “Twisted Rails” (1934), “Gunsmoke Trail” (1938) and “Raiders of San Joaquin” (1943). He died from a heart attack at age 56 in Beverly Hills, California.
