Dan Edward Jackson, 63, of 1003 St. Matthews Road, St. Matthews, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, in Gethsemane Baptist Church Cemetery near St. Matthews, with the Rev. Robert K. Frederick officiating.
Mr. Jackson was born Oct. 25, 1942, in St. Matthews, the son of the late Oscar Lee Jackson Sr. and the late Vera Annie Herlong Jackson. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Freddie (Angie J.) Ott and Mrs. Mildred J. Cornelius, both of St. Matthews; two brothers, Oscar L. Jackson Jr. and Johnnie L. (Betty) Jackson, both of St. Matthews; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Freddie (Angie) Ott, 1013 St. Matthews Road, St. Matthews, and at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
