He was born August 13, 1913, in Hempstead County, Arkansas, to Van Martin and Lizzie Breeding Derryberry, who preceded him in death, On February, 16, 1946, he married Jean E. Keith, who died December 19, 1986.
Mr. Derryberry had been a sales manager of Curtis Publishing co., worked for the B&O Railroad and had been owner of A&D Real Estate & Insurance. He was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church. He was a member of Lodge 205 Free & Accepted Masons and the Lima Board of Realtors. He was a graduate of Blevins High School., Hempstead County, Arkansas. He was an Army veteran of WWII.
Survivors include three sons, V. Keith (Diane) Derryberry of Lancaster, Bruce (Annie) Derryberry of Bloomington, Indiana, and Glenn H. (M. Jo) Derryberry of Lima; a brother, George M. Derryberry of Lima; a sister, Audrey Smith of Wapakoneta; six grandchildren, Jill, Erin, Tyler, Corey, Dakota, and Rory Derryberry; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry H. Derryberry and Quentin M. Derryberry, Sr., and two sisters, Vera Mae Reeves and Naomi Patrick.
Services were held at Shawnee United Methodist Church, Dr. Joseph Bishman officiated. Burial is at Shawnee Cemetery.
