1st obituary printed in the Thursday, March 28, 1901 Courier, Blair, Nebraska

Nick Dornacker was taken suddenly ill last Monday of heart trouble and died Tuesday evening. The funeral took place at the home near Bennington at ten o’clock today. Mr. Dornacker bought the property recently vacated by A.J. Finlayson and expected to move to this city and leave the farm for charge of his son, who was to have been married on the day his father died. He was sixty-one years of age and during his long residence in this county had become independently well to do.

2nd obituary printed in the Thursday, March 28, 1901 Pilot, Blair, Nebraska

Nick Dornacker, a highly respected German farmer of Richland township, died yesterday morning at five o’clock. Mr. Dornacker had not been seriously ill, but not feeling perfectly well. After a light breakfast he returned to bed, and later when the family tried to awaken him, found him cold in death. Heart trouble is supposed to have been the direct cause of his death. Especially sad is the loss of the father at this time, from the fact that one of the sons was to have been married yesterday, and all arrangements for the wedding had been completed. Mr. Dornacker was well known throughout the county, having lived here for many years. He was an enterprising farmer who held the respect of all who knew him. He will be sadly missed at home and among his friends. A devoted wife, four sons and three daughters survive him. The funeral will take place from the residence near the German hall, ten miles south of town Friday morning at 10:00, and the remains will be brought to this city and interred in the Blair cemetery.

Note: There is a discrepancy in the death date, but the Pilot has the same date as the Blair cemetery records.
