Mr. Joe Ernest Allison, son of the late Mr. Nathan Allison and Mrs. Lucy Jane Pike Allison, was born March 20, 1905, in Adair County and departed this life Saturday, May 2, 1992, at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was 87 years, one month and 12 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt Carmel Methodist Church at the time of his death. He united in marriage to Miss Nellie Catherine Pike in 1933 and she departed this life in 1961. To this union were born two daughters and one son, Nadine Russell, Parker, Colorado, JoAnn Durrett, Greensburg, and Ken Allison, Greensburg. Mr. Allison is also survived by four grandchildren, Tim Russell, Parker, Colorado, Rodney Durrett, Huntsville, Alabama, Ricky Lane Durrett and Katy Ingram, both of Greensburg, five great-grandchildren, T.J. Russell, Crystal Russell, Allison Anna and Amber Durrett and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 4, with burial in the Green River Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Marshall Eastham officiated. Pallbearers were Don Ingram, Randall Button, Rodney Durrett, Ricky Durrett, Orval Riggs and Garland McFarland.
