From the New Holland Clarion, September 29, 1900

"Mrs. Fannie Sailor Diffenderfer, widow of the late Solomon Diffenderfer, of this borough, died at her home with her daughter, Mrs. Adam Overly, on East Main street, on Thursday afternoon about 4 o'clock, at the advanced age of eighty-seven years and nine months. Deceased had been in poor health for about a year, suffering from the infirmities incident to old age and had been confined to bed for some time. Mrs. Diffenderfer was a daughter of the late Emmanuel Sailor, of this town and was born here and dwelt here her entire lifetime. She was very genial, kind and cheerful in her disposition and was respected and esteemed by all who knew her. She was a devoted member of the Reformed church from maidenhood and her faith was a great consolation to her in her declining years. Three sons and five daughters survive her: Jacob, of Lancaster; William, of Coatesville; John, of Philadelphia; Mrs. Lucetta Cochran and Mrs. Fannie Diller, of Waverly, N.Y.; Mrs. Adam Overly, Mrs. Jacob H. Townsley and Mrs. John Glowner, of this borough. Her husband died about twenty years ago. The funeral of the deceased is to be held on Monday at 11:30 o'clock a.m., the interment will be made in the Reformed cemetery."
