Obituary: ANOTHER GONE – The people of New Holland and vicinity have again been startled by the sad and unexpected information that one our most active citizens - Mr. Solomon Diffenderffer – is dead. Only a week before his death he was still in the enjoyment of good health and full of life and merriment as he always was wont to be, and even on Wednesday of last week he worked hard all day, though he complained of feeling unwell. On Thursday he was worse, on Sunday he was very sick and on Tuesday about noon he breathed his last. Truly we know not when the enemy shall come to summon us away. Mr. Diffenderffer had spent his whole life time in New Holland, and was one of our most kind and obliging citizens, and his numerous disinterested favors, his ever pleasant smile and constant good humor will long be remembered by his numerous acquaintances and friends.
