Marcella Ruth Clark, 72, of Modesto, died Wednesday at her home. Mrs. Clark was a native of Burkbumett, Texas. She lived in Modesto 43 years. She was a produce worker for Ralston Purina Co. for 32 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her children, Charles Shaffer of Groveland, Daniel Shaffer of Oakdale, Charlene Sysco of Anderson, and Eugene Shaffer of Kentucky; brother, Donald Yates of Modesto; sisters, Ozell Rainey of Oakdale and Mary Brown of San Angelo, Texas; and eight grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Sunday and from noon to 8 pm Monday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel.

Survivors include sons Daniel Shaffer of Oakdale, Charles Shaffer of Groveland and Eugene Shaffer of Kentucky; daughter Charlene Sysco of Anderson; brother Donald Yates of Modesto; sisters Ozell Rainey of Oakdale and Mary Brown of San Angelo, Texas; eight grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel in Modesto.
