1923 - 2012
On Dec. 17, 2012, Arlene Mae Barton passed away in her daughter's home in Vancouver WA. of natural causes. She is survived by her daughter Joan Morrow of Vancouver, Washington and six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 3 siblings, Ben Thomas of Reno, Wilma Hammond of Texas and Cora Belle Hudson of Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her children Jackie McCoy, David McCoy and Sheila McCoy.
Arlene was born in West Union, West Virginia, the first born of 7 children to Alton and Inez Thomas. Arlene moved to Marysville, Ohio in 1932, then Dayton, Ohio in 1942. She married Floyd F. McCoy in 1942 and had four children mentioned above. They were divorced in 1967. Arlene then moved to Eugene, Oregon with her children David & Joan McCoy, and where Jackie McCoy lived. Arlene worked for Skipworth Juvenile Detention for many years and also sold Real Estate later on. Arlene met and married Quintin Barton in 1975 and was divorced in 1985. Arlene loved Oregon and all its beauty. The Oregon Coast, the McKenzie River and the Three Sisters Mountains were some of her favorite places. Arlene loved getting together on a weekly basis for dinner and wine with her dear friends Bettye Willette and Elizabeth Clark. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
