Carol Ann Newcomer, age 69, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., went to be with the Lord on Jan. 13, 2013. She was born on Sept. 14, 1943, in Columbus, Ga., to Emanuel Francis and Bessie Mae Bass Niebauer.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bill Newcomer; Daughters, Patricia and (Richard) Wilson, of Pensacola, Fla., and Christine and (Allen) Lassiter, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla; and three Grandchildren, Rachael, Diane, and Bradley. She is also survived by her Mother, Bessie Niebauer, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Brothers, Bill and (Wanda) Niebauer, of Rossville, Ga., and Ricky and (Adell) Niebauer, of Ringgold, Ga.; Brother-in-Law, Darrell Parrish, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., along with her nieces and nephew. Carol was preceded in death by her Father (Emanuel Niebauer), Sister (Mary Parrish), and Grandparents (Lyman and Annie Mae Bass).

Carol was devoted to her family. She enjoyed all of her friends and co-workers. Carol retired in 2006, after 27 years of service, from Okaloosa County Gas.

She loved to travel and visit the country in their motor home, with their group of close and dear camping friends. She also enjoyed taking her grandchildren on numerous camping trips.

She was a member of Shalimar United Methodist Church.

A time of visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Interment will follow services at Beal Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shalimar United Methodist Church.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to all the Doctors and Nurses at Emerald Coast Oncology, Dr. Anastasio and his staff at Emerald Coast Infectious Disease, Dr. Rogers at White Wilson Medical Center, and Edie at Covenant Hospice. Their care and concern for her during her battle with cancer was always evident.
