PLANS INCOMPLETE

Webb City, Mo., June 3.—Funeral arrangements are incomplete for Mrs. Eliza Rogers, 97 years old who died at 1:45 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of her son, Oll Rogers, a justice of the peace here and former Jasper county sheriff, 216 South Webb street.

Mrs. Rogers had been in ill health about four years and for the last three years had been bedfast. She had lived with her son thirty-one years. She had resided here forty-five years, coming to Webb City with her husband and family from Nashville, Ill., where she was born, May 10, 1835. She was married there to the late Levi (sic) Rogers, who died September 17, 1901. Eleven children, three girls and eight boys, were born. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Central Methodist church for forty-five years, transferring her membership from the Nashville, Ill., church immediately after coming to this city. In 1888 the family first went to Columbus, Kan., to live and two years later came to Carterville. In 1887 they moved to Webb City where Mrs. Rogers lived during the remainder of her life.

Surviving, besides the son are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Foster of Jasper, Mo., and Mrs. Lizzie Brown of Kansas City; and another son, the Rev. James M. Rogers, of Burgman, Ark.; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Eliza Rogers, 97 Years Old,
Had Made Home There Nearly
Half Century.


Webb City, Mo., June 2.—Mrs. Eliza Rogers, 97 years old, died at 1:45 o'clock this afternoon at the home of her son, Oll Rogers, a justice of the peace here and former Jasper county sheriff, 216 South Webb street.

Mrs. Rogers had been in ill health for about four years and for the past three years had been bedfast. She had lived with her son thirty-one years. For the past several weeks her condition had been critical.

The aged woman had lived here forty-five years, coming here with her husband and family from Nashville, Ill., where she was born, May 10, 1835. She was married there to the late Levi (sic) Rogers, July 7, 1852. Eleven children, three girls and eight boys, were born. Mr. Rogers died September 17, 1901.

Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Central Methodist church for forty-five years, transferring her membership from the Nashville, Ill., church immediately after coming to this city.

Surviving, besides the son, are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Foster of Jasper, Mo., and Mrs. Lizzie Brown of Kansas City, and another son, the Rev. James M. Rogers of Burgman, Ark.

In 1883 the family first went to Columbus, Kan., to live and two years later came to Carterville. In 1887 they moved to Webb City where Mrs. Rogers lived during the remainder of her life. She had been an active worker in church affairs until she reached the age of 75 years, when her health failed.

Z. M. Williams, pastor, in charge. Burial will be in Webb City cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be E. T. Webb, J. W. Boyd, W. A. Corl, Richard Thralls, E. E. Spracklen and John Etter. Active pallbearers will be P. H. Danglade, J. W. Harrison, C. A. Byrd, F. G. Smart, J. H. VanHoose and C. B. Chenoweth.
