A memorial service for Joe T. Simmons, 67, of Richmond will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 1, 2010 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg with H.D. Simmons officiating.
Joe was born February 2, 1943 in Odessa, Texas. He passed away October 28, 2010 in Houston, Texas.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Durrell and Cleta (Tate) Simmons; along with aunt and uncle, Betty and Robert Scott.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of over 31 years, Janis (Peveto) Simmons; son, Matthew Robert Simmons; daughter, Dawn Flowers Anders and husband, Timothy, daughter, Camille Simmons Bartley and husband, Scott; brother, H. D. Simmons and wife, Linda, brother, James L. Simmons; sister, Kassandra R. Simmons; special aunt and uncle, Patty and Michael Tate; grandchildren, Whitney, Austin and Kendall Mendez, Bailey and Nolan Bartley and Ashley and Nicole Anders; along with numerous other family and friends.
Special thanks to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospice Unit, Dr. Ana Leach and all the special nurses and aides who cared for him with dignity, respect, and kindness.
