Rodney Glen Mason, 46 of Quincy, CA passed away unexpectedly with his family at his side, Sunday August 19th, 2012 at Renown Medical Center located in Reno, Nevada.

Rodney was born February 24, 1966 in Yuba City, CA to Richard and Lynda Mason whom still reside in Yuba City. He grew up in Live Oak, CA where he attended and graduated from Live Oak High School in 1984. Rodney excelled academically as well as athletically, playing football, basketball and baseball.

While in high school, meeting at the tender ages of 14 and 16 he found his soul mate, marrying his high school sweetheart December 17th, 1983. They started their family in 1985 and to this union three children were born.

Rodney was employed at Medallion Millworks in Marysville, CA before moving his family to Quincy in 1996 where he began his employment with Sierra Pacific Industries. Rodney had been at SPI for sixteen years and was still employed there upon his untimely passing.

The most important part of Rodney's life was his family and he proved it to them everyday. He loved fishing, camping and napping as well as watching the changing of seasons: football, basketball, NASCAR (Go Jimmie) and baseball. He was a kind and compassionate man with a big heart, always thinking of others before himself. Rodney was tough when he had to be and a very hard working man- he had his first job at nine (picking prunes) and has held a job ever since even while attending school.

Rodney is survived by his parents, mentioned above, his loving wife of twenty eight years; Lisa, his biggest pride and joy, his children; son; Todd Mason of Houston, TX, daughter; Jessica Mason of Yuba City and Erika Sallee of Quincy. His beloved grandchildren whom he absolutely adored; Renee, Kamille, Alex, Jamiya and Rodney Glen II due December 10. Brother; Steve Mason, sisters; Kim Mason and Marla Mason all of Yuba City, CA, five nephews, two nieces, five great nephews and two great nieces. Rodney will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
