Richard H. Misener, the marine construction magnate and mayor and key player in the development of what is now St. Pete Beach, Florida. He's also the namesake of the Richard H. Misener Bridge leading up to the Sunshine Skyway in St. Petersburg, Florida.

He was also responsible for the construction of bridges, marinas and ports throughout the country before he died in 1987 at the age of 70. The company he founded, Tampa-based Misener Marine, is involved in replacing the old Maximo drawbridge with a 65-foot fixed span bridge.
