Mrs. Emily Mead received the news this week of the death of her brother-in-law, C. C. Perrin, of Watertown, S. D., who passed away at the home of his niece, Mrs. Mamie Lapp. Mr. Perrin was also an uncle of Mrs. Earl Robbinson and Mrs. Lawrence Andreas. He was at the home of Mrs. Lapp, where he went to visit with her and Bessie Strickrodt before going to Georgia with his daughter, Mattie Attwood [adopted]. He was 83 years old at the time of his death. He left Spirit Lake in 1890 when he moved to South Dakota. He had represented his community twice in the legislature and was one of the best informed men in South Dekota on public affairs. He was recorder in Dickinson county for eight years and will be remembered by many old settlers. The body was taken to Pisgah, Iowa for burial.

Enlisted with his brother Thomas Jefferson Perrin, 15 Oct. 1862, Union Army, Company E, 6th Cavalry Regiment, Iowa. Mustered in 16 Nov. 1862. Mustered out at Sioux City, Iowa, 17 Oct. 1865. A headstone application was filed by a brother David Perrin and put in place July 1929 on the previously unmarked grave.
