1922-2013
Salt Lake City, UT-Thola Jensen Ogden Lowe, 90, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed peacefully on January 12, 2013. She was born in Eureka, Utah March 25, 1922 to Deloss Parley Jensen and Esther Eliza Ward Jensen. The family moved to Riverside, Utah in 1924. Married Dail Ogden, April 6, 1944. Divorced 1965. Married Reed Lowe May 29, 1969. Reed died 2010. Thola was a faithful member of the LDS Church throughout her life, serving as a teacher in Primary, Young Womens, Sunday School and Relief Society. Also served as Relief Society Chorister and Pianist at Sacrament Meetings at the Meadows Retirement Center Branch in St. George in her later years. She retired from Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph as a Service Representative in 1969. She then moved to Grace, Idaho, where she enjoyed working with her husband, Reed, at Lowe Drug, keeping books and doing the out-front buying. They lived in a beautiful ranch house in Burton Canyon and loved the years spent there. In 1979, they sold the drug store, and in 1983 began spending their winters in St. George since their private road to the ranch was not plowed out in the winter. In November 2003, they sold their home and ranch and moved permanently to St. George. Thola was an avid reader and gave many book reports during her years in Grace. She also enjoyed sports, both by participating and as a spectator, skiing, hiking and even had a private pilots license at one time. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting, playing piano, writing, gardening and canning. Most of all, she loved her family and doing volunteer work. She is survived by three children, Monte Jensen Ogden (Colleen) Ogden, UT, Carol Ann Ogden Tuckett (Michael) Salt Lake City, UT and Scott Dail Ogden (Karen) Holladay, UT and Reed's children, whom she loved as her own, Donna Lowe Skinner (Wayne) Bountiful, UT and Marty Lowe (Annie), eleven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Max Adams, Tremonton, UT., and three nieces and their respective families. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Adams. The family would like to thank the kind people at Highland Cove and Affinity Hospice for the care and concern they have shown. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 15th 10:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple with visitation at 9:00-9:45 prior to the service. Interment in Riverside, Utah Cemetery.
