Leo Hubbard, age 94, of Pierson, passed away January 12, 2013. He was born May 10, 1918, the son of Guy and Edna (DeVault) Hubbard. During his working years, he worked as a beekeeper for most of his life. At one point, he was Michigan's largest beekeeper and also won a Beekeeper of the Year award. Leo loved the outdoors, cutting wood, trapping, hunting and spearing fish in the winter time. Surviving are four children, Richard Hubbard of Trufant, Mary Dillon of Coral, Linda Jenkins of Trufant, Rodney (Betty) Hubbard of Pierson; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Holland of Greenville; two brothers, Don (Edna) Hubbard of Coral, Larry Hubbard of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, his parents, a sister, Mae, and brothers, Douran, Len, and Lewis. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, 11 AM at the Heckman Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Rineberger officiating with burial in the Coral Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday evening from 5-8 PM and prior to services on Tuesday. Heckman Funeral Home, Howard City, MI
