Carol Spears, 77, of Madison passed away Wednesday.
Carol was a member of Mayfair Church of Christ. Known as "Peaches" to her grandchildren, Carol loved horseback riding, writing poetry and spending time with family and friends. She wrote hundreds of poems during her senior years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Marjorie Brose.
Survivors include her husband, Luther T. "Luke" Spears; brother, Marvin Brose and wife, Maxine of Corinth, Ms., and sister, Elma Jean Glass of Martinsville, Ohio; daughter, Nancy S. Locklear and husband, Larry, of Birmingham; son, James D. Spears and wife, Deborah, of Georgia; grandsons, Jesse T. Long, Jacob M. Long and wife, Leannya, and Micah H. Long, all of Birmingham; granddaughter, Daniella Spears of Cumming, Ga.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home Chapel with Jason Bybee officiating.
