Roy "Pops" Dee Hankins, 72, of Nixa, MO, passed away August 18, 2012. He was born April 3, 1940 in Garrison, MO the son of Oliver Dee and Sarah (Fern) Hankins. Roy was a longtime resident of Christian County. By trade Roy was a wood cutter and an all-around outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and tinkering around with his automobiles. Roy dearly loved to hunt but in recent years was only successful at it when he wore his glasses. Roy is survived by his three sons, Steven and wife Rachel, James and wife Janell, Donald and wife Beverly, and one daughter Donna and husband Tony; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; five brothers and five sisters and the mother of his children Virginia Sue Finney, other caring relatives and many friends. "Pops" will be dearly missed by family and friends. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ernie Hankins, his daughter Debra Lynn Johnston, and two sons Michael Allen and John Kevin.
