He was a physician of high reputation; he practiced at Young Harris. Also known as an educator of high ability. He obtained his early education in the public schools of Clay County, NC and in 1897 received the A.B. degree from Young Harris College. He attended Augusta Medical College and completed his coursework at Grant University in Chattanooga, TN from which he was graduated in 1901 with the MD. He practiced 9 years in Clay County and then located at YH in general practice. He was physician for Young Harris College, Towns County School Supt., Steward of the Methodist Church.
