Following an extended illness of over ten years Julius Lassen a well known resident of this place, passed away at 1:30 Sunday afternoon, at his home on the West Side. Tuberculosis was the cause of death.

Mr. Lassen was born in Germany and in 1872 came to this country with his parents settling in Amherst. For many years he had been employed at the Cleveland Stone quarries. he was 69 years of age.

He is survived by the widow, two sons, Louis and Frank and daughter Miss Luella; also two sisters, Mrs. Beal and Mrs. (?), Sandusky and a brother in Germany. There is also one grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the German Evangelical church, Rev. J. G. Zeiglar officiated.
