Mrs. Edward J. Pietch

Amherst-Mrs. Ethel (Kuss) Pietch, 65, of 828 Cleveland Ave., died yesterday at 11:50 p.m. in Amherst Manor Nursing Home after an illness of four-and-a-half-months. She was born in Amherst Apr. 30, 1894 and had lived her entire life here.

Mrs Pietch formerly managed the Kuss Drug Store for eight years and was assistant librarian at the Amherst Library. She also served on the library board several years.

A member of the Amherst Congregational Church, Mrs. Pietch was a charter member of Amherst Sorosis and was a member of Pythian Sisters,. She was formerly active in Music circles.

Survivors are her husband, Edward J. Pietch; a daughter, Mrs. Burton Jenne, Amherst; and a sister, Mrs. Fred Powers, Amherst.

Friends will be received at the Garland Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today. Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Elinor Galusha and the Rev. F.E. Eastman will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot in Crown Hill
Cemetery.

Miss Ethel Kuss Becomes the Bride of Edward C. Pietch

Simplicity marked the beautiful home wedding of Miss Ethel G. Kuss, of Lorain and Edward G. Pietch, of Elyria, which was solemnized Tuesday afternoon at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Kuss. Promptly at 3:30 o'clock to the strains of Lohengrin's Bridal march, played by Mr. Earl Bennett, of Elyria, the bride, leaning on the arm of her father, descended the stairs followed by the groom and took their place in the living room before a bank of palms and flowers where the marriage vows were taken. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Rev. R.G. Armstrong, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiating at the prettty ring ceremony. Preceding the ceremony, Miss Helen Kollman sang "O Promise Me." The bride looked beautiful in a simple white gown of crepe dechine and carried bride roses. Fifty relatives and friends of the young couple witnessed the ceremony.

A reception followed the ceremony after which a course supper was served. The bride's table was effectively decorated in pink chrysanthemums and smilax where the bridal party and intimated relative were seated at small tables.

Mr. and Mrs. Pietch left during the evening for a short wedding trip east and upon their return will reside the with bride's parents for the winter. The bride's traveling suit was of African brown with hat to correspond.

Mrs. Pietch is a graduate of Amherst High School, class of '13, and is one of the most prominent young ladies of Amherst. Both Mr. and Mrs. Pietch are member of the Amherst Home orchestra and are well known in musical circles. Mr. Pietch is employed as electrician at the Willys-Knight Overland Company in Cleveland, and is popular among his associates.

The out of town guests to witness the ceremony were Mrs. Ernest Pietch, of Elyria, mother of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Harper, Mr. and Mrs. William Phaff and son, Misses Hilda and Martha Pietch, Mesars, Floyd Boughton, Earl Bennett, Mrs. Sarah Engle, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Uber, Mrs. Ellsworth Palmer and Miss Mayme Kuss, all of Elyria; Mrs. F. Horner and daughter of Cleveland; Mrs. Charles Hanchett and daughter, Miss Marion, of Lorain; Mrs. J.S. Vaughn and daughter, Miss Irene, of Oberlin. -- Lorain Time Herald
