Carl R. MacKay

Carl MacKay, 78, of Dunnelion, Fla., died Thursday at the Cypress Cove Care Center in Chrystal River, Fla., after a short illness.

He was born in Lorain and lived in Amherst before moving to Florida 18 years ago. he was a member of St. peter United Church of Christ in Amherst and was a retired manager at US Steel in Lorain.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in Air Force and was a member of Stonington Lodge 503 F&AM of Amherst.

Mr. MacKay is survived by his wife, Christina (nee Wolfe); a son, Charles of Amherst; a daughter, Mary Jane Duncan of Georgetown, Ky.; a brother, James of Lorain; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Noga.

Friends may call at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home 851 Park Ave., Amherst, Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Happel will officiate. Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.

Masonic services will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home and military rites will be conducted by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard.
