Mary Lou Bader, 86, of Akron, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2012. Mrs. Bader had been a special education teacher at Akron Children's Hospital and North High School. She was an active member of St. Hilary Catholic Church, a sister of Theta Phi Alpha sorority. She loved spending time with family and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by brothers, Robert Knapp of California and John Knapp of Virginia; her daughter Mary Bader of United Arab Emirates; sons Lawrence (Sue) of Florida; Stephen (Ivy) of Akron and Timothy (Sally) of Painesville; nine grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence J. Bader.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 9:00 AM at Saint Hilary Parish, 2750 W. Market St., Fairlawn, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM also at St. Hilary Parish. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (Greater East Ohio Area) 70 W. Streetsboro St., Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236.
