IRVING ABELL PASSED AWAY HERE SUNDAY Funeral Services Held Tuesday Afternoon With Burial in Woodville Cemetery; Was One Day Short of 72 Years

Irving Abell died Sunday morning at 6 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Louis Schroeder, following an illness of several weeks. He was in the Waseca Memorial Hospital for three weeks while suffering from pneumonia. About ten days ago he was taken to the home of his daughter and was feeling well until Friday afternoon when he was taken suddenly ill. He lost consciousness soon after and passed away early Sunday morning.

Irving Otis Abell was born Jan. 3, 1872 in Otisco Township and would have been 72 years old had he lived another day. He was a son of the Hon. and Mrs. John S. Abell, pioneer settlers in Otisco Township. His father served two terms in the state legislature and was county superintendent of schools from 1890 to 1894. Irving was one of eight children. He was married Sept. 15, 1906 to Hannah Marie Anderson of Otisco Township. The ceremony was performed at Mankato and the couple made their home on the farm in Otisco. Mrs. Abell died Jan. 15, 1936. Mr. Abell moved to Waseca about three years ago but for the past three months he has made his home with his daughter.

Surviving children are Mrs. Louis Schroeder (Mae), Waseca; and Ardella and Ethel of Long Beach, Calif. The latter two daughters were called home when their father was first taken ill. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Emma Barr of Fairview, Mont.

Funeral services were conducted from Pfaff's Home for Funerals Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. M. Green of the Congregational Church.

Burial was in Woodville Cemetery. The pall bearers were Charles Minges, Walter Minges, Sam Leslie, Warren O'Neil, Arthur H. Johnson and George Krienke. Mrs. Guy Riggs of St. Paul, a neice, was here for the services.
