Christopher Steven Schultz of Caldwell passed away at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston on January 8th, 2013 at the age of 16, as a result of his injuries sustained in an automobile accident on January 5th. His family made the loving sacrifice to donate his organs so that others may be saved.

Christopher is preceded in death by his uncle, Mikel Schultz.

Christopher is survived by his loving parents, Steven and Sandra Schultz, younger brothers, Cameron and Carson, Maternal Grandparents, Charles "Chuck" Nitsche of Smithville, TX., and Donna Roberts of Spiro, OK. Paternal Grandparents, Albert and Jo Ann Schultz of Caldwell, TX, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many loving classmates and friends, including his soccer teammates in Caldwell and Brenham.

Christopher was born in College Station, Texas on August 22, 1996. He attended school in Caldwell throughout his whole life until the 2012-2013 school year when he transferred to Brenham High School and played soccer for the Cubs. He was an avid athlete and outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, spend time on the lake, and playing various sports including soccer, football, baseball, track and basketball. He was also involved in both 4-H and FFA.

Christopher was a current member of both the Brenham High School and Caldwell Falcons Soccer Teams. The Falcons won their league championships from 2009-2012 and were Eastern District First Place Champions in Fall 2010, Spring 2011 and Fall 2012. They were State runner-ups in Fall 2011 & 2012, and won the Texas State Championship in Spring 2011. He was the Falcons #1 Goalkeeper and an integral part of their success.

Visitation will be held at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell on Sunday, January 13th. Stricklands will be open at 8:30 am for people to come and go. The family will be there from 4-7pm.

The funeral service will be held at the Caldwell Civic Center. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell. Afterwards, family and friends are invited to a reception following the burial at the Caldwell Expo Center. Donations of food and drinks for the reception may be brought to the Expo Center beginning at 11am.

Flowers and cards may be delivered to Strickland Funeral Home and memorial donations may be mailed or dropped off to Prosperity Bank of Caldwell, 129 West Buck Street, Caldwell, TX, 77836, or at any other Prosperity Bank location.
