Marie was born in Oklahoma to Ira Loranzo Nelson and Georgia Etta Gray Nelson. She was one of eleven children born in this family. She met her husband Ernest S. Langley while the family was living in Carthage, MO., She moved to California and lived in Sonora, Ca. a number of years.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and quilting.

She is survived by her children; Jerry Langley of California, Linda Sue Langley Green of Ceres California.

She is also survived by two brothers, James Franklin Nelson of New Mexico; Raymond Levi Nelson of Witten, SD., two sisters, Ann Bell Nelson Cloniger of Virginia and Opal Georganna Henson of Carterville, MO., as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren , nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Marie and her husband Ernest were a very special people, When Marie's brother, Willie Woodward "Bill" Nelson and his wife Emmaline Mabel Ware, passed away Marie and Ernest finished raising their nine kids with the three of their own* The childern are Beverley M. "Nelson" Bice B. 1943, Jessie Marie "Nelson" Tennis B. 1945, Emer Franklin Nelson B. 1946, Wilma Jean "Nelson" Harter B. 1947, Wanda May "Nelson" Taylor B. 1948 - D. 1997, Ricky Woodward Nelson B. 1953, Georgia Ann "Nelson" Wass B. 1954, David Houston Nelson B. 1956, and Thresia Bell "Nelson" Bearden B. 1958. She loved all her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ira and Georgia Nelson, a daughter Naomi Lee Langley Green, two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Nelson, Dove Marie Nelson, four brothers, Joe Nelson, Budd Lonzo Nelson, Willie Woodward Nelson and Alma Loranzo "Butch" Nelson.
