Mary Frances Janes, "Our Mother's work on earth was done early January 8 when she closed her eyes and was carried tenderly home in the loving arms of Jesus. Heaven's gates surely opened wide and the angel choir assembled as this saintly woman of God let go of her earthly life and entered the Holy City with angel band gloriously singing." She was born on November 14, 1931 in Big Renox, (Burkesville) Kentucky and resided most of her life in Lapel.
She retired from St. John's Medical Center as a housekeeper and loved gardening, quilting, crocheting and playing bingo.
She was a member of Columbus Avenue Church of Christ. The family wishes to thank the staff at Saint Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital, Dr. Mares and Dr. Molina for their excellent care. Mom loved everyone at Millers Merry Manor and they became family to her the past six years that she resided there.
Mary is survived by her children, Carolyn Carter of Chesterfield, IN, Judy Ledbetter of Rickman, TN, Peggy (Ron) Vetor of Anderson, IN, Brenda (Roy) Baker of Pendleton, IN, Terry Janes of Anderson, IN, Rita Brinker of Anderson, IN; siblings, Stanley (Virginia) Murley, Loretta (Benny) Dubree, Evelyn Furgeson, Jamie Farlee all of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Betty Murley; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dolly (Fletcher) Murley, father, Raymond Murley, husband, Elbert Janes, siblings, Opal Harlan, Herbert "Hub" Murley, sons-in-la W.R. Ledbetter adn Kelsey.
Visitation will be held on January 10, 2013 at the funeral home from 4:00pm-8:00pm
Services celebrating Mary's life and homecoming will take place at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, IN on Fridays, January 11, 2013 with Charlie Soden officiating.
Burial will take place in the East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
