Obit. Steve Brown, 89, of Lebanon, died Sunday morning, July 26, 2015, at his daughter’s home in Osage Beach.
He was born Dec. 6, 1925, near Lebanon, Mo. to George and Ona Lane Brown.
On Nov. 5, 1946, he married Pauline Marie Bingham.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pauline, on Sept. 14, 2004; a son, Donald Brown; four brothers, Lane, Clell, Robert and Roy, and two sisters, Lee and Floy.
He was raised in Lebanon and then entered the U.S. Army as a young man. He served in France and in Germany during part of World War II, was awarded a Purple Heart Medal and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He then made his home in Iowa for many years, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. After retiring in 1989, he and Pauline returned to the Lebanon area.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicky Brown, of Osage Beach; four grandchildren, Brandii, Mickey, Josh, and Stephen; six great-grandchildren; a brother, R.D. Brown, of Lebanon; a sister, Zonie Rash, of Weaubleau; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Cathy Zabel.
Funeral services for Steve Brown will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in the Mount Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Andy Rains officiating.
Burial will be in Veterans’ Park in Mount Rose Memorial Park with Full Military Honors by V.F.W. Post No. 4107, under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
