Carl W. Ray, 86 of Findlay, went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2013 at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Mike Klein. He was born on December 13, 1926, in Speedwell, TN to the late Verlin and Angeline Ray. He married his wife of 62 years Artie who preceded him in death on December 18, 2012. He is survived by his children Ron (Vickie) Ray, Marcella (Mike) Klein, and Randy (Cheryl) Ray, all of Findlay; grandchildren Carl (Melanie) Ray, Michelle (Shawn) Beucler, Clint Becky) Ray, Chelsey Ray, Jennifer Ray, Beth (Jeff) Minard, Katie Klein; great grandchildren: Marissa, Alexis, and Braydon Beucler; Kyndle, Kailey, Maybry and Xander Ray, and Joshawa Minard. He is survived by sisters; Jean Blaine and Edith Byrd. He was preceded in death by great-grandchildren Gage Ray; brother Sherman Ray: sisters Mary Dabney and Fontella Payne. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran. He loved nature, woodcarving, animal lover and most of all he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Trinity Baptist church until God called him to serve as a member and deacon of Liberty Baptist Chapel until Alzheimer's robbed him of his memory to be able to serve the Lord. Carl retired from Ford Maumee Stamping plant after 17 years of service and previously worked for the Labors International Union of North America. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2013 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Dave Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. on Monday until the time of service. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens, East of Findlay where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. The family requests donations be given in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Hancock County Humane Society. Condolences can be sent via www.coldrencrates.com.
