Arthur B Straub, 65, of 457 Lombard Street, Galesburg, died Sunday, 8 July 1951, at 3 am at Galesburg Cottage Hospital following an illness of six months. Mr. Straub had served as Galesburg city market inspector the past six years and had resigned recently due to impaired health.

The son of Albert B and Elizabeth Weidenhammer Straub, Arthur was a native of Galesburg, born 4 Oct 1885. He attended Galesburg schools. He married Bessie G Williamson 15 Apr 1908 in Galesburg.

He is survived by his wife, by three brothers, William Straub of Cameron, John Straub of Salem, Oregon, and Peach D Straub of Galesburg, and by a sister, Mrs. Martha Stoner of Galesburg.

Mr. Straub was a member of the First Methodist Church and of Vesper Lodge 584, A F & A M. As a hobby, Mr. Straub collected coins.

Funeral services were held at Kimber and West Chapel, and burial in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.
