Wilhemina "Minnie" Thau, daughter of Mathias Thau and the former Catherina Parr, was born in the area around Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1857/58. Her parents were originally from Germany.
At the age of 18, Minnie married Gustave Harmon Lehning¹ on the 2nd day of May 1876 in Nashville. Minnie and Gustave would have seven children:

Lena Kate Lehning (1882 – 1883)
Freddie Lehning (1885 – 1885)
Frank Kenna Lehning (1886 – 1960)

Wilhemina "Minnie" Thau Lehning departed this life on March 18th 1892 at the young age of 35 years. She was laid to rest next to her infant daughter, Lena, in the Thau family plot at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
