John W. Fuller, 86, formerly of Hughesville, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Grandview Health Homes of Danville.

Born Dec. 25, 1926, in Norwalk, Conn., he was a son of the late Charles D. and Barbara M. (Jones) Fuller. He and his wife, the former Alice Ruth Fowles would have celebrated 42 years of marriage on February 27, 2013.

John was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1944, and received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Columbia University School of Engineering in 1949. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed as a land surveyor for over 40 years. John was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, Hughesville.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, John D. Fuller of Conn.; three step-sons, John A. Baxter of Danville, Scott F. Baxter of Westport, Mass. and Samuel C. Baxter of Mass.; a sister, Barbara Lindstrom of Conn.; one granddaughter; four step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Alida Dorsey Fuller.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
