Friedrich Wilhelm Joachim Christian Frick was born April 21, 1845, in Gehlsbach, Landkreis Ludwigslust-Parchim, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the son of Heinrich Friedrich Christoph and Maria Elisabeth Dorothea (Schelaen) Frick. He immigrated to the United States and settled on a farm in Muscatine County. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Civil War. He married Dora Hass on September 11, 1874. Together they farmed near Stockton.
Surviving are his wife, Dora; three daughters, Alvina, Caroline and Mary, Frick; and one son, Harry Frick, all at home.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
