EDNA VERSTEEG DIES AT AGE OF 41; WAS WELL KNOWN THROUGH COUNTY
Edna Caroline Versteeg, 41, died Friday, November 18, at a local hospital, from a complication of goiter and tumor ailments. The wife of Walter A. Versteeg, and a long-time resident of this county, Mrs. Versteeg was known and respected by a wide circle of friends. Her home was near Hopewell.
Funeral services were held from the Hopewell church, Sunday afternoon. Rev. Allen of the Amity Methodist church officiating.
Mrs. Versteeg was born in Nevada. She became acquainted with Mr. Versteeg at Dayton and was married to him there, October 11, 1906.
In addition to the widower, four children survive: John, Howard, Hazel and Lester, all of whom live at home.
The deceased leaves three brothers and one sister: Red Peffer and Max Peffer of Dayton [newspaper error- should be Rex and Max not Red], Dr. Ray Peffer of Corvallis and Miss Etta Peffer, a twin sister, who lives at Dayton.

Etta and Edna were twins born in 1886. The stone is incorrect.
