Company E "Oak City Guard" from Wake County, 14th North Carolina Infantry "Last At Appomattox!", Ramseur's Brigade, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence Wake County NC; an 18 year-old Student.
Enlisted on 5/1/1861 at Wake County, NC, he was mustered into "E" Co. NC 14th Infantry as a Private.
Promoted to Corpl 10/1/1862.
He was Killed In Action in the Battle of Chancellorsville, VA.

The 14th Infantry Regiment, formerly the 4th Volunteers, completed its organization in June, 1861, at Garysburg, North Carolina. The 14th participated in the various campaigns of the Confederate Army from Williamsburg to Cold Harbor, fought under Gen. Early in the Shenandoah Valley, and ended the war at Appomattox.
It sustained 142 casualties at Chancellorsville.
