Alice Bell Asher was born near Clay, Kentucky, August 1, 1878 and passed away at Clinton, Oklahoma on November 9, 1943 at the age of 65 years, three months, and nine days.
On March 8, 1896 she was married to James Price at Arapaho, Oklahoma. To this union two children were born. They are Mrs. Bessie Vaughn of Morse, Texas and Forrest Price of Durham, Oklahoma.
She leaves to mourn her passing, besides her two children, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one brother U.S. Asher of Custer City, Oklahoma and three sisters, Mrs. H. M. Thomas of Hereford, Texas, Mrs. Mary Pendley of San Angelo, Texas and Mrs. Cora Price of Seminole, Texas also a host of nieces, nephews and fridns.
Her husband, one sister and three brothers preceded her in death.
In 1901 she with her husband and small daughter moved to a homestead one mile south of Durham where she resided until the passing of her husband in 1937. Since that time she had made her home with her son Forrest and family. When she was a young woman she was converted and united with the Methodist Church. In her every day life she practiced the principles of Christianity in that she was a kind and devoted Christian mother and a loyal friend and neighbor.
Interment in the Fairview Cemetery, Durham, Oklahoma.
