The death occurred at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Monday, March 9, of Mr. John Ditner, following a lengthy illness, at the age of 61 years. He was born in St. Agatha, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ignatius Ditner and spent his whole life in that district. For some years he was employed by Mr. Samuel Steinman in town and he was well known throughout this community. He was a member of the St. Agatha R. C. Church. His wife predeceased him in 1935.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Otilla Straus, Bamberg, Mrs. Caroline Ruth, Elmira, and Mrs. Mary Straus, St. Agatha; eight brothers, Linus, Edward and William, St. Agatha, Simon and Theo of Petersburg, Alphons and Ignatius, Kitchener, and Louis of Paris.
The funeral was held Wednesday forenoon from the home of his sister, Mrs. Otilla Straus, at Bamberg, to the R. C. Church at St. Agatha for requiem mass, followed by interment in the St. Agatha R. C. Cemetery.

He was the husband of Christina Phillipina Meyer, whom he married on Sep. 23, 1902 in Waterloo County.
