Roscoe was my great uncle, he was a good man and he was a farmer. I loved going to stay on the farm in the summer during our visits. He and Lena were like Grandparents to my brother and I. My brother and I would go to the fields with Roscoe riding on the tractor with him. My brother adored him. He had a great deal of patience, allowing us to help with the chores of milking the cow (we tried) and feeding the other farm animals or at least watching. I remember he had a pond, we loved to catch catfish. Roscoe also told some of the best old stories I've ever heard. Very few youngsters like to sit and listen to old stories but I loved it. I'll always treasure those memories.
Roscoe died of cancer.
