Rita Faye Lipscomb Allison, 64, of Steele, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti.

Born March 10, 1945 in Steele, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Barney Lipscomb and Kim Grindstaff Lipscomb.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Melba Dean Holbert, Fannie Mae Young and Inez Moyers and one brother, J.B. Lipscomb.

Rita was united in marriage to Lester Lee Allison in Steele.

She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Steele and had worked for the Blytheville School District as a cook.

Mrs. Allison leaves her husband, Lester Lee Allison Sr., of the home;
One daughter, Debbie Grissom, of Steele;
One son, Lester Lee Allison Jr., of St. Louis;
Two brothers: Ersel Lipscomb of Steele and Walter Lipscomb of Memphis;
Two sisters: Betty McDermott of Steele and Alice McIntrye of Petal, Miss.; and
Five grandchildren: Shannon, Shawn and Shane Myers and Brandon and Bryan Allison.

Funeral services for Mrs. Allison were held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 25, 2006 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Gary Andrews Sr., officiating.

Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Powell Funeral Home in charge of services.
