William, son of Albert C. and Wilma (Johnson) Allard, was born September 19, 1937. He passed away Wednesday, August 5, 1998, in Coquille, Oregon, of natural causes.
Bill served in the Marines. He was a member of the Coquille Indian tribe.
He earned several degrees including an Education Specialist Degree. He had taught school in Pueblo, Colorado, San Jose, California, Fossil, Oregon, Hershey, Nebraska, and Nulato, Alaska. Bill served as an administrator in Nelson, Nebraska, Manokotak, Alaska, Aleknagik, Barrow and Dillingham, Alaska.
Upon retiring, he and his wife, Adad, moved to Bellingham, Washington for eight years and had resided the last four years in Sun City West, Arizona. They spent their summers traveling the Pacific Northwest.
While in Alaska, Bill loved to hunt and fish. He had always been active in sports, participating in high school and in college, and coaching at the elementary, junior high and high school levels. After retiring he also played softball. Bill was an avid golfer. He enjoyed music, playing the trumpet and listening to western music.
Bill was a very jolly man to be around. He loved to tell jokes and laugh. He made others happy with his cheerfulness. He will be remembered as a very caring person.
He was a member of the Masons, Shriner's, Scottish Rite and the Elks.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Wilma Allard.
Survivors include his wife Ada of Sun City West, Arizona; one son, Robert Allard and his wife Terry of Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter, Tamara Allard of Anchorage, Alaska; his father, Albert Allard of Coos Bay, Oregon; and three grandchildren, Louis McGinty, Robby Allard and Amanda Allard.
