James Danny Acord, 65, of Clear Fork, WV, went home to be with the Lord and greeted with open arms on January 8, 2013 in at his home, Clear Fork, WV. He was born December 6, 1947 in Clear Fork, WV a son of the late James Dee Acord (1918-1986) and Leah "Lurlene" Adkins-Acord (1928-1966).

James was an Oceana High School graduate. He was a US Army Veteran having served in Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal and the Air Medal.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers Aldie Charles Acord (Deceased), Jimmy Dale Acord (1960-1960), Dallas Steve Acord (Deceased), and Stanley "Spunk" Dee Acord (1956-2012).

Those left to cherish his memories include a daughter Jessica Denise Acord-Morris & husband Ronnie Morris of Blythe, GA; two sons, James Danny Acord, Jr. of Lincolnton, GA, and Joseph Brian Acord & wife Amy Acord of Warrenville, SC; ten brothers, David "Bud" Acord (1948-2017) & Kadie Acord of Crouches Farm, Keith Acord & wife Donna Acord of Lynco, Kenny Acord of Oceana, Mike Acord of Oceana, Ricky Acord & wife Norma Acord of SC, Mark Acord & wife Claudia Acord of Whitesville, Larry Presley & wife Tonya Presley of Mullens, Norman Cline (Deceased) of Lynco, Chris Acord & wife Lora Acord of Mill Creek, and Timothy "Timmy" E. Acord (1970-2018) of Oceana; three sisters Joan Acord of TN, Reva Acord-Walls of Beckley, and Janet Acord-Calloway & husband Doug Calloway of Glen Daniels; eight grandchildren, Alexus, Katelynn, Morgan, Natalie, Madison, Justin, Ryan, and Buck; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday January 11, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Bowels officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard.
